Complications within the scope of the vasectomy
There are possible complications as a result of the vasectomy - however, these appear only in very rare cases.
One of the complications is the possible postoperative bleeding following performance of the vasectomy. Blood vessels injured during the vasectomy can lead to postoperative bleeding and to hematoma. Once hematoma appear, pressure pains can also originate as a result.
In case of a bleeding, you need to see the doctor immediately. He will carry out all necessary measures and / or put you on respective medication.
Also, it is possible that a local infection may result from the vasectomy. This can show up as localized redness accompanied by pain. For this case, your doctor will define the necessary measures and, if required, give you a prescription for antibiotic medication.
Very rarely, redness of the scrotum can also appear.
Basic signs for a complication:
- fever
- redness also localized redness
- problems when urinating
- unnatural discolorations (vicinity of the surgical intervention, scrotum)
- bleeding in the area of the surgical intervention or the bandage
Should you note this or similar complaints and symptoms, consult your vasectomy specialist.
